On the morning of Cat & Rich’s wedding day I had a breakdown. Not an emotional one but an actual car breakdown. On the petrol forecourt at Sainsbury’s. This is the stuff of wedding photographer nightmares. After about 60 seconds of panic and tears I knew I had to make some phone calls: one to my husband at work to say I need his car more than he does, one to my father in law to be a ferry for my husband and the most important one of all, to the MOST understanding bride of the century, Cat. Through my garbled repetitions of “I’m so sorry” and trying not to cry I said I would be on my way asap, Cat was chilled out, cool as anything and so unbelievably understanding. I arrived, hot, embarrassed and very apologetic, about 30 minutes late.
And breathe.
I loved shooting this wedding – two super lovely, super cool, super laid back people with their best mates and families at The Schoolhouse in Weeford on a gloriously sunny October day. Pretty damn good. Here’s just a few of my favourites from this beautiful wedding…
Oh, and when it comes to proposal stories, I love theirs and here’s Cat’s take on it:
“Rich had designed a puzzle I had to complete that created a QR code that we had to scan to start a treasure hunt around Sutton Park, there were 4 clues we had to solve so we spent a cold, slushy February afternoon chatting and traipsing around Sutton Park looking for various places. We also managed to get lost once or twice. By the end we had 4 clues that put together created another QR Code which when scanned asked me to marry him.”
