It is no secret that I adore this place. It’s likely because I always have a great time shooting there, and the staff are superb, as Lucie and her wedding dream team are well versed in ensuring your big day goes without a hitch. Maybe it’s gardens, the deer park or the building itself, oozing with grandeur and elegance, which makes for a fabulous wedding venue. Swinfen have been hosting weddings for over 30 years, and whilst the venue itself is steeped in history, weddings here are done with a modern twist. In their own words “As an independent hotel, we have the flexibility to work with you to ensure your wedding is a true reflection of your personality and wishes and is as original and distinctive as you want it to be.”
Beautiful gardens and grounds. Swinfen has some of the most stunning grounds of any venue going, and it begins with the sweeping driveway that leads to the Georgian Manor house. Flanked by a deer park and Victorian walled garden, the main gardens boast an ornamental lake, beautiful flowers, and Italian inspired stone work. The terrace is ideal for post ceremony celebrations where you can catch up with your guests and indulge with fizz and canapes. This is one of my favourite times of the wedding day as I capture you and your guests enjoying the day as it happens; the laughter, the hugs and of course, the joy. And yes of course, you’ll get some beautiful family photos, but more importantly, it’s about capturing the day just as it happens.
Exclusivity. Having an entire venue to yourselves for your wedding can be a deal breaker for some couples when searching for the ideal location. At Swinfen Hall, every single wedding is given exclusive hire. So you can relax and enjoy having the run of the place, which also includes a fabulous bridal suite for the morning prep, as well as 17 other gorgeous bedrooms for your guests. So rest assured that Swinfen is all yours from the prep right through until the morning after. And very soon, Swinfen will be adding leisure facilities, including an indoor and outdoor pool, gym, spa treatment rooms, eco-pods, outdoor hot tubs and luxury self-catering accommodation in the Victorian Walled Garden. I cannot wait to see how gorgeous it is going to be.
No end of photo opportunities. I can go to Swinfen anytime of year, anytime of day, and I know that my couple are going to have the most gorgeous wedding photos, whether they are indoors or out. From the grand staircase, the wedgewood blue lobby, and balcony, or heading outside to roam the grounds for romantic and relaxed portraits. You will be spoilt for choice and I will be as happy as a kid in a sweet shop when photographing your wedding.
If you’re planning a wedding at Swinfen Hall, and are wanting a relaxed approach to your photos, I’d love to hear about your plans.
