Park House Hotel Wedding – Ali & Brian

Apr 15, 2020

This wedding will always be a memorable one for me and Ali & Brian remain one of my favourite couples. This gorgeous September big day had hundreds of stand out moments for me; their first look on the staircase, emosh bridesmaids, super cute personalized aprons, incredible readings, awesome food, and of course, some of the most fun people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I’ll leave it to Ali to give you a bit of background…

Tell me more about how you met:

“Brian and I first met on Tinder! My friend Hannah (one of my bridesmaids) actually set up my account, and did the swiping for the first hour…and swiped ‘right’ on Brian… I had no idea until i received a message from him!! So technically my best friend picked Brian for me.”

Tell me about the proposal:

“I took Brian to London as part of his birthday surprise for his 30th… I had reserved a table at a Peruvian restaurant which was gorgeous. Planned to embarrass him with a birthday cake for dessert, but he had gone to the toilet, leaving me waiting at the table…unbeknown to me he was psyching himself up to propose!! He came back, the waiter brought out the cake, and next thing Brian dropped to the floor, I thought he fell off the chair…but he was on one knee! Gobsmacked!! Took me totally by surprise, it was perfect!”

What do you love most about your wedding venue?

“I fell in love with the Bridal staircase as soon as i saw it, Brian loves the set up with the two rooms and large bar in between, and the fact it is local.”

What are you both looking forward to about the wedding day?

“We are looking forward to having all our friends and family in one place!! My family are all in Scotland, and my brother lives in Kuwait, Brian’s family are from Liverpool, with his mum’s side coming from Peru…we have about 20 relatives coming from Peru, so it will be fantastic to have us altogether to celebrate our special day!”

When I’m not shooting people in love you can find me at home, probably drinking too much coffee, eating cake and watching a film. My husband and I hold a lot of our conversations in film quotes. We’re kind of film geeks. After ten years of photographing almost 200 couples who love the bones of each other, I’m still in love with weddings and I would love to hear more about yours.
