2017. Done and dusted.
What a year. I know it sounds proper corny, but it really has been a right bobby dazzler of a year for me. On a personal level, we bought our first house, holidayed abroad with a toddler for the first time, not only survived but embraced Center Parcs, fan girled real life Emma Case when I saw her out shopping (nearly as embarrassing as when I fan girled Lisa Devlin) our daughter had her first nativity (big moment for parents, that), we went back to Cornwall, met up with friends from America and relatives from Canada, got to see Bananarama live, had the best Christmas to date. I could go on.
On the professional side it’s been beyond brilliant. I know every wedding photographer probably thinks this, but it’s true: I can’t believe how bloody good the clients are. You are marvellous. Remarkable, awesome humans who somehow let me come to their shindig with a camera. Mind boggling. It’s been a year of firsts at weddings too – first proper rainbow, first proper snow, first time juggling a camera, a brolly and hoping not to get struck by lightening in an outdoor ceremony in torrential rain. First time hearing one of my brides get a mention on ‘getting hitched’ on Radio 2. First time shooting at venues like Weston Hall, Adcote School, The Old Vicarage and The Citadel, as well as the last time shooting at Palms Hill as it closed this year.
Most photographers are compiling a ‘best of’ or a ‘favourites’ and I think we all kind of struggle to narrow it down, worrying about getting the balance right. These are the ones that spoke to me most, the ones I have seen one hundred times on my editing screen but still adore, the ones that make me smile. I hope you like them.
I’m ending the year feeling all warm and fuzzy and it’s not just from the prosecco. I can’t wait to hit the ground running in 2018, Merry New Year everyone x
Lovely. Looks like you’ve had a great year
Just brilliant Nicola. You’ve really pushed yourself this year and created some beautiful images. Here’s to even more in 2018
Absolutely, by far the only photographer we could have had for our wedding. Thank you for holding the umbrella and not getting struck by lightning :-)
I can t thank Nicola enough for capturing our big day. It was so hard to choose the pictures for our album, as not 1picture we did not like. So many compliments about the photographs and a lovely lady too Love Allison and Llew
