I first met Kate at a wedding fayre; she was looking for suppliers for her own wedding and her friend was doing research for her daughter’s wedding (I photographed that one too, it’s coming to the blog soon) Right away, I liked her.
She and Steve were planning on a relaxed wedding day surrounded by their family and friends. The Mytton has long been one of my favourite Shropshire wedding venues; it’s not far from my home, it serves great food, and the riverside setting manages to combine a relaxed, informal atmosphere with an country house wedding venue.
Steve proposed to Kate one evening as they watched ‘Pretty Woman’ and the piano music used in the film was Kate’s entrance music for the ceremony. Despite the weather forecast, the couple had Spring sunshine all day; perfect for the courtyard ceremony.
The venue was decorated by Shropshire based company Simply Beautiful and the stunning flowers were by Shrewsbury florist, Julie Nicholas. The bride made the wedding cake herself – how beautiful is it?!
Following the moving ceremony, everyone could enjoy the warm weather by the river whilst Kate and Steve had a few portraits around the venue including walking along the Atcham footbridge.
I adored this wedding and can’t wait to be back at the Mytton and Mermaid this Summer for more wedding goodness. Here’s a few of my favourites…
