Iscoyd Park Wedding – Keira & Jay

Jun 18, 2018

Keira and Jay are just ace. Fact. Sometimes you meet clients and they feel more like mates and that’s totally the case with this pair. They held their stunning September wedding at Iscoyd Park, a country house set in 18th Century parkland. Jay owns apparel company Fortis Sport and Keira is a (hopeful) contender for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.

Keira started out the wedding morning at her family home for make up but then hit the road to Iscoyd for the rest of the preparations with her bridesmaids, flower girl and male bridesMATES. Jay was holed up in one of the venues lovely cottages on site with his team of groomsmen where he was surprised with an amazing wedding day gift from his bride, a brand new Brietling watch!

I do love a good dad reaction and this is one of my favourites with Keira presenting her dad with a hand written letter. No, I’m not crying, you’re crying.

After the moving ceremony in the stunning garden room, a light airy space filled with scented Neom candles and fresh flowers by Nigel Whyles, guests enjoyed the weather outside with drinks and canapes.

The grounds at Iscoyd are a photographers paradise with plenty of stunning gardens, boating lake plus quirky things like a piano in the woods and a giant swing.

Their speeches brought surprises too as Jay’s mom finally found out who was to blame for the cause of a minor neighbour dispute and Jay presented his new wife with her wedding day gift – a french bulldog called Duncan! Although the dog couldn’t actually attend the wedding, a framed picture did the job!

Now I’ve been to many a wedding and heard Ed Sheeran “Thinking Out Loud” as a first dance but this was the first time I heard it and cried behind my camera. See, some years ago Keira got sick and began to lose mobility in her left leg. On the anniversary of this, Jay proposed, turning what was usually a bad day into the best day. So as the couple took to the floor and that first line played, I balled my eyes out. “When your legs don’t work like they used to before, I can’t sweep you off of your feet…”

I can’t thank Keira and Jay enough for allowing me to capture this epic wedding, much love guys x

When I’m not shooting people in love you can find me at home, probably drinking too much coffee, eating cake and watching a film. My husband and I hold a lot of our conversations in film quotes. We’re kind of film geeks. After ten years of photographing almost 200 couples who love the bones of each other, I’m still in love with weddings and I would love to hear more about yours.
