Happy Halloween! To celebrate this spooky day of All Hallows Eve, I bring you the gothically beautiful, Autumn wedding of Laura & Chris.

This is the first time I’ve been to Birmingham wedding venue Highbury Hall in Moseley and the bar has been set pretty high with this one. It’s a Grade II listed manor house built in 1878 that was once the family home to Birmingham MP Joseph Chamberlin. Think dark wooden beams, huge stained glass windows, dramatic staircases and stunning secluded grounds and you genuinely wouldn’t think it’s located just a stones throw from Birmingham City Centre.

I’ve actually known Laura for the best part of twenty years. We met as two music loving teenagers on the bus route home from school one day and a friendship based on 90’s rock and metal bands was forged. To be the one to capture her wedding day was truly an honour. Chris was the bassist in Birmingham based band ‘Farse’ and they met on a night out in Brum and through sharing a love of horror movies, music and a wicked sense of humour together they make one of the loveliest couples you’ll meet.

Laura, her mother and bridesmaids, sister Ruth and best friend Sian got ready upstairs at Highbury in one of the grand bedrooms and while the girls drank champagne I had time to capture details of the dress and awesome shoes by Irregular Choice.

It’s safe to say this pair had ceremony music I’ve yet to hear at any other wedding – the theme from Cannibal Holocaust, anyone? Laura made her entrance accompanied by her father and the touching ceremony was underway.

Seeing as the Autumn sunshine was out in full force, guests could enjoy drinks outside in the stunning grounds before Laura and Chris headed off for a few informal portraits.

Once all the guests were seated for their meals the speeches by best man, Jim and the newly weds took place. The new Mr & Mrs Badham took to the dance floor to Stevie Nicks’ “Edge of Seventeen” and the evening reception was officially underway.
