My final wedding from2015 has two parts. Australian Ally and British Matt both live down under in sunny Melbourne but decided to host two weddings: a British one in Matt’s home village of Cardington on the outskirts of Church Stretton and an Australian one at the Melbourne Zoo. While they didn’t fly me out to the zoo I got to capture the beauty, the love and the awesomeness that is this fabulous pair in Shropshire on a cold December day.
Surrounded by some of the loveliest friends and family I’ve been lucky enough to encounter, this pair said “I do” in a marquee ceremony followed by an acoustic rendition of “One Day Like This” by Elbow performed by one of Matt’s friends and established local musician Joe Seager, they fist pumped the air and danced hand in hand back down the aisle to “Home” by Edward Sharp & The Magnetic Zeros.
I adore this pair and this wedding. From the personalised vows to the awesome speeches to the funkiest dance floor moves to “I believe in a thing called love” by Postmodern Jukebox, this wedding was ace.
