Just a few miles out of town, overlooking Shrewsbury, there sits a rather special and stunning vineyard and restaurant set within the Hencote Estate. Whilst a vineyard might be an obvious choice for a warm & balmy Spring or Summer wedding, part of the motivation for this shoot was to showcase just how perfect this venue is as a winter wedding reception choice.
Perfect Shropshire wedding venue
A jewel themed colour palette coupled with hints of bronze and copper was the jumping off point for the inspiration and the mood board ahead of this session along with a desire to display just how beautiful small and intimate wedding receptions are. Perhaps you’re planning a downsized wedding in the current climate and no longer need a huge reception space, or are heading off for a legal ceremony and want somewhere special for dining a deux afterwards. Hencote offers sumptuous food, a unique location and, as it’s a vineyard, superb wines so it’s an ideal place to celebrate saying ‘I do’.
Dressed for success
Steph from the wonderful Bridal Reloved Shrewsbury explains the inspiration for the dresses: “When Nicola asked me to collaborate with her on her Hencote shoot, I knew straight away that the dresses needed to be sleek and sophisticated with simple elegance to fit in with the venue. The first dress combined a simple satin silhouette with show stopping back detail. The second dress was a fabulous tea length with fabulous Polka dot detail on the skirt and then finally our third look was a crepe fit to flare. All three looks really nailed the elegant bridal look we were trying to create. Combined with fabulous hair and makeup, as well as the other fabulous elements of the shoot like the flowers and the neon, we were beyond chuffed with the final photos!”
It’s all in the details
When having a smaller event, you can splash out on the added extras; great flowers, amazing cake, beautiful decor and table centre pieces and of course, gourmet food and drink.
Gorgeous grounds for romantic portraits
Hencote’s enviable location high above the historic town of Shrewsbury means you will have stunning views all around on your wedding photos. The grounds include their beloved oak tree as well as the vines themselves so if the weather permits, I’d highly recommend taking time out for a stroll so you can get some relaxed, romantic portraits.
Table for two, please.
Small and intimate weddings are so beautiful, and even more special if it’s just the two of you. Why not indulge in the superb food on offer, enjoy the delicious wines or a cocktail at their feature bar and begin your happy ever after at one of the county’s most unique wedding venues.
