Goldstone Hall and me have an extreme weather based relationship; My first wedding there was back in 2011, hottest day of the year and I got sunburnt. In 2014 on the wettest weekend of the year, when every other wedding photographer moaned because of the weather, I avoided the storm and got stunning skies and sunshine. Fast forward to 2017 and I had torrential rain with a thunder storm in August and a proper white snow covered wedding in December. But in June, the hottest day of the year so far, guess what? Sunburnt again. This is Fiona & Chris’ wedding day.
They met in 2010 and, on 17th June 2016, Chris proposed whilst on holiday in Cornwall. They wanted a simple but elegant wedding with the focus being on friends and family being together, eating great food and as little fuss as possible. Check out the cake made by Fiona’s mom! So with less than 30 guests as their witnesses, including their baby boy Harry, exactly one year after the proposal, they got hitched. I love this venue so much – it’s a family home in Hinstock tucked away in the Shropshire countryside and it’s hands down one of my favourite places to shoot; The staff are lovely, the food is delicious and the setting is jaw droppingly gorgeous. The reasons why Fiona and Chris chose it was the relaxed atmosphere, the grounds and all the outdoor space.
Here’s just a few of my faves…
