Pimhill Barn Wedding – Amy & Ed

Jun 26, 2018

Amy and Ed chose to have their September wedding at the superb rustic Shrewsbury wedding venue, Pimhill Barn. It’s located just on the outskirts of Shrewsbury and is a blank canvas for whatever ideas you have. I have never seen it look the same twice which is why I love shooting there and luckily I am also one of their recommended suppliers.

Amy and Ed both went to single sex schools and met at a joint school disco 14 years ago. Ed proposed on holiday in the Cotswolds the day after celebrating their ten year anniversary.

This wedding was also featured on Boho weddings just before Christmas and you can read the full link here: https://www.boho-weddings.com/2017/12/15/coutry-themed-barn-wedding-with-greenery-hessian-and-jam-jars-by-nicola-gough/

The day started with Amy and her bridesmaids getting ready in the cottage on site and was surprised with a beautiful gift from her soon to be husband. The ceremony was held just inside the barn doors with a gorgeous marquee attached to the side so guests were sheltered from the unseasonably chilly and damp weather.

Pimhill allow the bridal party into their private grounds and this is the perfect place for couples portraits. Although the weather was gloomy with rain and just a brief appearance of sunshine we got a rainbow!

The wedding party were treated to food by Amy’s dad’s catering company, Dougherty & Allen, then speeches by Amy’s dad, step dad, the groom and the best man and things ran the gamut of emotions from the teary to the laughter to the head in hands moments.

After dark we headed out for just a few minutes to seize the opportunity to do some OCF portraits before the couple partied the night away to live music by Nibbs and Eddy.

Massive thanks to Amy and Ed and their friends and family for such an epic wedding. Here’s a few of my faves…

When I’m not shooting people in love you can find me at home, probably drinking too much coffee, eating cake and watching a film. My husband and I hold a lot of our conversations in film quotes. We’re kind of film geeks. After ten years of photographing almost 200 couples who love the bones of each other, I’m still in love with weddings and I would love to hear more about yours.
