The Wroxeter Wedding – Emma & Rob

Apr 29, 2017

This pair and I go way back to 2013 when I shot the wedding of Rob’s sister. Emma and Rob were celebrating 10 years of being together in 2016 and decided to get married to celebrate – how ace is that?! They chose the Wroxeter on the outskirts of Shrewsbury to host a beautiful ceremony followed up by afternoon tea.

The morning preparations went smoothly, with Emma being possibly the coolest, calmest bride ever with her best friend by her side enjoying having their hair and make up done. Rob, his twin brother (and best man) and all of his groomsmen started the day in more lively fashion, drinking beers and enjoying the September sunshine.

Their ceremony was one of the most emotional I’ve seen in a long time; made all the more emotional as Jacob, Emma and Rob’s son, came down the aisle to present Rob with a handmade sign. After the “I do’s”, friends and family could enjoy the gardens and the grounds whilst the kids played games. After a few informal portraits, mainly of Emma and Rob laughing, giggling and general silliness everyone headed inside for the speeches, with the best man’s being a particular highlight.

This wedding had three first dances too – one for Emma and Rob, one for them and their son plus one for Emma with her dad and Rob with his mom. I loved shooting this wedding so much so here’s just a few of my favourites from the day…

When I’m not shooting people in love you can find me at home, probably drinking too much coffee, eating cake and watching a film. My husband and I hold a lot of our conversations in film quotes. We’re kind of film geeks. After ten years of photographing almost 200 couples who love the bones of each other, I’m still in love with weddings and I would love to hear more about yours.
